KMF Scholarship Program

Untitled design (62)

PLEASE NOTE: Applications for the 2029 cohort of grade 8 KMF Scholars will open in early 2027. Applicants must be in grade 6 in order to apply for the full duration of high-school.

Focus: Academic and financial support through school years.

Sub-programs and interventions:

A) Grade 6 Recruitment & Selection Program (ages 11 – 12)

Goal: To implement a fair, consistent, and structured recruitment process that assesses each applicant’s resilience, determination, leadership potential, and genuine financial need.

The process aims to identify and award scholarships to learners who best demonstrate the qualities, values, and growth potential aligned with the profile of a Kay Mason Foundation Scholar.

B) Grade 7 High-School Preparation Program (ages 12 – 13)

Goal: To ensure newly awarded Kay Mason Foundation Scholars are successfully placed in suitable KMF-approved high schools and are academically, socially and emotionally prepared for the transition.

The program aims to close academic gaps, strengthen foundational skills, guide families through the high school application process, and establish early support systems to set Scholars up for success from Day 1 of their high-school journey.

C) Academic Support (Gr 8, Gr 9, Gr 10, Gr 11, Gr 12)

Goal: To provide targeted academic support that strengthens scholars’ understanding, improves their learning outcomes, and equips them with the skills and confidence to succeed across all subjects.

D) Scholar Events

Goal: To foster a sense of community, pride and engagement among KMF scholars (Grades 8–12) through structured events that reinforce program values, celebrate achievements, and provide meaningful social and developmental experiences.

E) Direct Educational Financial Support (Gr 8, Gr 9, Gr 10, Gr 11, Gr 12)

All the direct school costs are covered. Each scholar has their own individual budget in respect of what they need to successfully attend school. Some of these costs include:

  • School fees
  • Uniforms
  • Transportation
  • Textbooks
  • Extras
