Kim Zanele Nduna matriculated from St. Cyprian’s High School in 2013 through the Kay Mason Foundation scholarship.
After matriculating Kim went on to graduate with a BA degree in Education.
Today, she is a Grade 1 educator at Silverstream Primary School.
On the impact of Kay Mason Foundation Kim says, “I grew up with a single parent. The KMF had an enormous impact on my life. It changed my environment; it uplifted me and even boosted my self-confidence. I saw the major changes in my personality, and I honestly do not think these changes would have taken place was it not for KMF.
“There was a major gap between my friends and I back home and what helped me was the fact that I had an elderly mother, and she was much more focused than my friend’s mom.”
Rising above…
“I immediately had to shift my mindset because I told myself that I will rise against my current circumstances. Even the High school that I attended, the environment, my educators, my peers they were all so supportive and very welcoming and that really helped me a lot during my time with KMF,” she says.
